OpenAI's ChatGPT Now Available for All Apple Mac Users
OpenAI announced that its popular AI chatbot, ChatGPT, is now available for all Apple Mac users. The release follows an announcement earlier this month at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024, where the integration of ChatGPT with Apple's operating systems for iPhone, iPad, and Mac was unveiled.
“The ChatGPT desktop app for macOS is now available for all users”, OpenAI shared on the social media platform X. Mac users can now access ChatGPT more conveniently by using the keyboard shortcut Option + Space after installing the new app.
During WWDC 2024, Apple highlighted how ChatGPT is being integrated into iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia, enhancing user experience by providing seamless access to the chatbot’s capabilities across Apple's ecosystem. Siri, Apple’s voice assistant, can utilize ChatGPT to offer enhanced responses. Users will be asked for permission before Siri sends any questions or documents to ChatGPT, ensuring user control and privacy. Siri will then present the responses directly to the user.
Additionally, ChatGPT is integrated into Apple's systemwide Writing Tools, aiding users in content creation. Through the new 'Compose' feature, users can also generate images in various styles to complement their writing.
This integration allows Mac users to leverage ChatGPT’s advanced AI capabilities for more efficient and versatile interactions, enhancing productivity and creativity across Apple devices.
